Washington University School of Medicine Addresses Compliance and IT Governance Best-Practices with Solidcore

Selects Solidcore to Track 'Who' is Making Change in Real-Time and to Block Unwanted Change for Sustainable IT Governance

CUPERTINO, Calif., Jan. 9, 2008 — Solidcore® Systems Inc., a leading provider of real-time change control software, today announced that Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis has selected Solidcore's S3 Control™ software to automate the information technology (IT) controls and reporting needed to sustain compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulatory standard best-practices for their Practice Management and Electronic Medical Record Systems.

SOX compliance includes rigorous requirements for establishing and maintaining internal control over financial reporting, and requires organizations to disclose any material weaknesses found.  The Washington University School of Medicine was interested in following these requirements as a best-practice for their IT infrastructure processes and operations.  The school will deploy Solidcore's S3 Control software to automate the data gathering and reporting for SOX controls.  Solidcore will be used to collect change data in real-time from a variety of servers and databases into a single repository, and enable the school to understand "who" made a particular change.  Solidcore S3 Control will automatically reconcile change data against the company's existing processes and systems, and Solidcore's change prevention capabilities will ensure critical files and configurations do not change outside of process – providing sustainable compliance and IT governance.

Column Technologies, a leading provider of BMC Software infrastructure management solutions and BMC Software 2007 Partner of the Year, has standardized on reselling and delivering Solidcore's S3 Control™ software with BMC Software's Business Service Management solutions.  Column Technologies will work with Washington University on the implementation of Solidcore's S3 Control software in conjunction with BMC Software's Business Service Management solutions as needed.
