Stratus Teams with Solidcore To Deliver First Managed Change Control Service
Improves Service Availability for Customers by Preventing Out-of-Policy Changes
MAYNARD, Mass. & PALO ALTO, Calif., Jan. 15, 2007 — Stratus® Technologies, Inc., the leading provider of continuous availability systems and services, has teamed with Solidcore® Systems, Inc., the leader in adding control to change management, to deliver the industry's first managed change control service. Stratus is leveraging Solidcore's S3 Control™ software to bolster its managed information technology (IT) and data center services with real-time change control.
The Stratus Continuous Availability Framework™ provides managed services and programs to enterprise customers looking to outsource the IT environment and achieve continuous service availability. With as much as 80% of service availability threatened by incorrectly applied change, Stratus has teamed with Solidcore to improve service availability for its customers by enhancing its Continuous Availability Framework with real-time change tracking and enforcement capabilities. The value-added change control services give Stratus customers increased service availability by ensuring changes to critical systems are made at authorized times, implemented with an approved change ticket and executed as expected.
"End-to-end continuous availability is what our customers want, and change control is a key component to ensuring that availability," said Sri Sridharan, vice president of solution services for Stratus. "Solidcore change control software enables us to sustain continuous availability by enabling the automation of change management enforcement policies and gaining comprehensive visibility of change activity."
Solidcore S3 Control is easily configurable for managed service providers (MSPs) to increase the availability of IT services, enable the successful implementation of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) projects and reduce the cost of compliance initiatives for customers. Solidcore change control software enables MSPs to provide real-time visibility into infrastructure changes, reconciliation of change with change management systems, and is the only solution to provide automated, technology-based change policy enforcement to ensure changes made to the infrastructure are in-line with the change policy. MSPs can also leverage Solidcore to quickly and easily generate and provide compliance reports to customers for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) or Payment Card Industry (PCI) audits.
"We are excited to be working with Stratus to provide customers with managed change control services that help improve service availability," said Bob Vieraitis, vice president of marketing for Solidcore. "Solidcore enables customers to improve service availability by adding control to change management, and is the only provider to automate the enforcement of change management process and policies to prevent inappropriate or out-of-policy changes to the infrastructure."
