Solidcore change control software earns integration validation from BMC Software
PALO ALTO, Calif., Oct. 24, 2006 — Solidcore Systems, Inc., the leading provider of automated control software for change management, today announced that it has earned integration certification from BMC Software for its S3 change control software as part of the BMC Technology Alliance Program (TAP). The validation means BMC Software has verified through a third-party testing firm that the Solidcore S3 Control software is accurately documented, and integrates with the BMC Remedy Change Management solution, offering automated change policy enforcement and reconciliation of infrastructure changes with change requests.
With BMC Remedy service management solutions, enterprises can ensure IT service levels and discover, understand, model, respond, or track IT system problems and business services failures. Solidcore’s S3 Control software leverages the BMC Remedy Change Management solution by providing enforcement capabilities on the end-point and linking enforcement to the BMC Remedy change process. Solidcore’s change control software ensures that only changes approved through the BMC Remedy Change Management solution are deployed on production systems and that specific maintenance windows are enforced. Solidcore’s reconciliation capabilities can also identify out-of-policy changes and enable automatic ticket creation within the BMC Remedy Change Management solution.
"We are pleased to validate Solidcore’s interoperability with the BMC Remedy Change Management solution," said Fred Johannessen, vice president of Technology Alliances and MarketZone, BMC Software. "By earning validation with BMC Remedy, Solidcore helps bring our mutual customers the highest levels of IT service availability with real-time closed-loop change control."
Solidcore S3 Control provides real-time visibility into what changes are being made, when changes are made and by whom, enabling IT staff to pinpoint changes made on network devices, databases, servers or desktops at a moments notice. The product automatically correlates changes in the infrastructure with change management systems to validate that only approved changes are made, and can automatically populate change tickets with actual change details to greatly reduce the effort required to document compliance. S3 Control is also the first solution to provide technology-based change policy enforcement to automatically ensure changes made to the infrastructure are in-line with the change policy. The product provides selective enforcement of policies based on source, time, change ticket, or file type.
"We are pleased to be certified as a BMC technology partner," said Bob Vieraitis, vice president of marketing for Solidcore. "Customers around the globe rely on BMC Remedy to ensure service availability through change management, and with integrated Solidcore change control capabilities these customers now have the ability to technically enforce change management policy and link that enforcement directly to Remedy."
