Solidcore Establishes
Compliance Practice
CTO E. John Sebes to
Lead Effort to Help Companies Build Sustainable
Compliance Through IT Control
PALO ALTO, California —
August 30, 2005 — Solidcore
Systems, Inc., the leading developer of
IT control solutions, today announced the
establishment of its Compliance Control
practice under the leadership of Chief Technical
Officer E. John Sebes. The practice is focused
on helping corporations build sustainable
regulatory compliance through total control
of IT infrastructure and operations.
"Since the enactment
of The Sarbanes-Oxley Act and other government
and industry regulations, public companies
have been under tremendous pressure to demonstrate
that corporate business processes and results,
from financial reporting to IT management,
are accurate and verifiable," said
Mr. Sebes. "Efforts to date have been
burdensome and costly. Solidcore provides
best practices and innovative solutions
that lower the cost of being compliant while
improving internal change-control processes."
To ensure that IT systems
are performing only the tasks they are authorized
to perform, many corporations have adopted
solutions that periodically monitor the
state of enterprise servers in order to
identify any unauthorized changes, inadvertent
or malicious, that may have been made. If
unauthorized changes are found, steps are
taken to correct them. While this reactive
method can satisfy a company's annual external
auditors, the cost is prohibitively high
due to the reactive, manual and recurring
nature of the process.
Solidcore is addressing
the challenge of meeting compliance regulations
by providing IT controls to enforce change-management
policies and procedures and to maintain
and document the authorized state of business-critical
servers. Solidcore software ensures closed-loop
verification by reconciling authorized changes
with deployed changes and provides a continuous
audit trail for all deployed changes. In
addition, Solidcore enforces change processes
by ensuring that no unauthorized changes
can be made outside of the established process.
Solidcore integrates with a wide range of
popular change management tools to ensure
that they are the categorical systems of
record.
