Solidcore is an HP Software Platinum Business Partner, which includes membership in HP's Enterprise Management Alliance Program (EMAP) and Developer Solutions Partner Program (DSPP). HP has certified the integration of Solidcore's S3 Control™ software with HP's ServiceCenter, and the S3 Control product also integrates with HP's Service Manager, Change Control Manager (CCM), Server Automation (formerly Opsware), Network Automation System (NAS), and Universal Configuration Management Database (uCMDB) products. Solidcore's integration with HP products provides joint customers with increased information technology (IT) availability, lowered compliance costs and improved IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) processes.
HP & Solidcore Close the "Change Control Gap"
Service desks such as HP ServiceCenter are at the core of many IT organizations today, delivering process automation, efficiency and governance. Yet, a gap exists between actual change activity and the documented change management process, which results in expensive manual activity by IT departments to control and minimize the costs of change. Solidcore's S3 Control integrates with HP products to bridge the gap between actual change activity and the documented change process.
Product Integrations
- HP ServiceCenter + Solidcore S3 Control
S3 Control verifies that changes approved through HP ServiceCenter have been deployed and identifies unapproved/unticketed changes (e.g. emergency changes) with very high accuracy. S3 Control automatically groups related changes and provides a mechanism to easily document emergency/undocumented changes detected on the system for cost-effective compliance. S3 Control can also be configured to prevent any unapproved changes to systems to drive all change through HP's ServiceCenter. Benefits include reduced cost of compliance, increased availability and improved Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) processes. S3 Control integrates with both default and customized installs of HP ServiceCenter using the out-of-the-box connector, and provides an application programming interface (API) for integration with custom workflows.
- HP Data Center Automation (Opsware) + Solidcore S3 Control
When integrated with HP's Data Center Automation (Opsware), Solidcore S3 Control tracks all change to servers in real-time. S3 Control also captures and documents critical change detail in real-time, including who is making changes, what is actually being changed, when change is occurring, and how the change was made. Solidcore Identifies changes that make a system non-compliant and enables the IT organization to enforce a change process policy by ensuring, at the system level, that only HP's Data Center Automation can make change to a server. The combined solution enables customers to further enforce HP's Data Center Automation as an "authorized change agent," where only changes from HP are allowed, providing lock-down for select systems that support mission-critical applications that require extreme change control policies.
- HP/Opsware NAS + Solidcore S3 Control
Solidcore's S3 Control helps HP customers verify and audit changes to networking configurations by correlating the change information from the HP/Opsware Network Automation System (NAS) with Change Management Systems like HP ServiceCenter. Pre-packaged reports identify unauthorized and high-risk changes that could expose an organization's network to vulnerabilities and attacks. S3 Control can also automate audit trail creation and remove the burden of documentation from the Administrator. Audit trails are often mandated by SOX and other regulatory compliance initiatives and automation is the best and most accurate way of proving compliance.
- HP Change Control Manager (CCM) + Solidcore S3 Control
With S3 Control and CCM deployed in conjunction, latent changes are detected in real-time with detailed information including user name, program name and file content by S3 Control. All real-time change data is analyzed by CCM to perform risk factor calculations. S3 Control provides CCM with the number of latent changes, aggregated by server. S3 Control tracks "who" made the change, and information is summarized to provide number of latent changes performed by user. S3 Control can also prevent changes to critical files/registry keys, either made outside of the scheduled change window for an approved change or altogether to prevent unauthorized changes.
